Wanaka was stunning! The mountains, lake and valley blew me away, it puts what The Lord of the Rings shows us to shame! We drove up through Wanaka on our way to lake Tekapo and it was one of the most beautiful rides I have seen yet. The weather was clear and we could see Mount Cook from across on of the lakes we passed by. The south island surprises me around every turn with its majestic mountains, and lush valleys. The trees are changing colors with the fall weather which makes the countryside absolutely picturesque.
The town in Tekapo is small which makes the lake the place to be! The water was this milky teal color today and the overcast weather made it seem like it was glowing. We ate lunch at a Chinese restaurant in town and I wouldn't reccomend it after finding a nice thick black hair in our hot and sour soup...eeekk!
The Holiday Campsite is great and there is a big spa just walking distance from our tent site! We spent all night in the hot pools and got cleaned up before climbing into our tent! I am about to go meet the girls at the pool right now! So excited!
